The Contran (National Traffic Council) has adopted some necessary measures for the period of pandemic that we are facing. In this way, CONTRAN has released the Deliberation number 185/2020. One of the main actions was to interrupt the deadlines for processes and procedures of the National Traffic System bodies and entities, as well as public and private entities providing services related to traffic. The submission of the following deadlines are interrupted for an undetermined period:
Defense of the assessment;
Fine appeals;
Procedural defense;
Appeals for suspension of the right to drive and cassation of the qualification document;
Identification of the offending driver, including in the administrative proceedings in progress.
Among the inspection measures, it is worth mentioning that the deadlines for the driver to drive a vehicle with valid National Driver's License (CNH) expired since February 19, 2020 are interrupted for an indefinite period of time. This rule is extendible to people driving under the Driving Permit (PPD). Deliberation number 185/2020 further establishes that from now on the deadline for completing the habilitation process has gone from 12 months to 18 months.
